Superficial Peels

Light depth enzymatic peels  are one of the most common skin resurfacing techniques today. Safe, with no downtime, clients can see and feel a difference in as little at the first appointment. Peels affect the stratum corneum layer of our epidermis; using Alpha and Beta-hydroxy acids to dissolve the intracellular glue between cells, digesting them, resulting in smoother, more supple, youthful skin.

As we age, cells shed away at a slower rate. The appearance of the skin becomes dull and does not receive product as easily. Healthy desquamation is optimal for any client including clients who experience superficial scarring, pigmentation, or the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Home care is required.* A good candidate for this modality begins with a 2 week pre-treat with low level acids at home and uses a mineral sunscreen daily. This is to help accelerate results once in treatment. Clients must wear sunscreen during treatment to protect the fresh layers of skin, preventing further photodamage. We recommend Peels spaced 7-10 days for 4-6 weeks, depending on skin concerns. Standalone peels are an amazing facial add on anytime.

Contraindications for treatment:

  • Use of Accutane®, Retin-A®, or other medications that exfoliate or thin the skin within 6 months

  • Recent cosmetic surgery, laser resurfacing, deep or medium depth chemical peels or dermabrasion

LED Therapy

Space-age technology (Originally developed by NASA!) is behind the amazing modality used in esthetic practices around the world.

Light-emmiting diode therapy uses different wavelengths of light to inspire cellular change in the body, which can aid in wound healing, acne treatment, collagen stimulation, and reduce signs of aging.

Helpful in the treatment of:

  • acne

  • dermatitis

  • dull skin

  • eczema

  • psoriasis

  • rosacea

  • scarring

  • signs of aging, including wrinkles and age spots

  • sun damage

  • wound healing

  • other inflammatory skin conditions

Contraindications for this treatment include pregnancy, epilepsy, photo-allergy, and medications that cause light sensitivity (such as Tetracycline). Also, if you are currently taking steroids or cortisone injections, you should not receive light therapy.

Microcurrent Therapy

Also known as, "the non-surgical facelift." The FDA cleared microcurrent for therapeutic use in the 1980s for treatment of Bell's Palsy and muscle atrophy in the clinical PT setting. In the last couple decades, the esthetic world has adopted the practice for facial treatment.

This modality uses low level electrical current (similar to those produced naturally by the body) to stimulate the musculature of the face, which inspires ATP and collagen synthesis activity. Great for improving tone, tightness and contour of the face.

Microcurrent therapy is much akin to a "gym" for your face, in that it works out the muscles. The more the muscles are worked in a regimen close together, the better the results. We recommend a 2x weekly approach for 6-8 weeks. After that, clients may maintain their results with monthly or as-needed visits.

Contraindications for this treatment include:

  • Pacemaker or other implanted electronic devices

  • Epilepsy

  • Pregnancy (client or esthetician)

  • Cancer

  • Thrombosis

  • Phlebitis

  • Metal plates or pins in the application area

  • Under a physician's care for a disorder, illness, disease, or injury
